Boaz Tang has a MA in Asian American Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Ethnic Studies from San Francisco State University. He serves as a facilitator with the Lenses Institute, a cultural fluency development platform. He holds a BA in psychology from SUNY Buffalo.
As a graduate student, his areas of research include racial and religious formation, Asian American racial movements, Stop AAPI Hate data researcher.
As a researcher, I do trend analyses and policy research with Stop AAPI Hate. Our reporting center tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, and shunning, against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. I worked with Asian American Resesarch initiative conducting research on Asian American movements and Ethnic Studies education.
As a minister, I’ve worked with college students and staff of church and parachurch ministries. I have specialized experience working with Asian American college and youth students employing critical Asian American Theological perspectives.
